40 day PRAYERFAST, Jul 1 - Aug 9
Theme: City of God
We will look at God’s blueprint for the Church as seen in Paul’s letters to the Corinthians. The focus is on Christ—so that we may conform to His image and rightly represent Him in our beloved city which belongs to God.
Please go online to www.lovesingapore.org.sg for the daily readings and prayer pointers.

Resignation
It is after much serious thought and extended prayer that our Cantonese Congregation pastor Emily Man Wai Ching has tendered her resignation to return to Hong Kong. Her heart’s desire is to see her family come to Christ and she wants to spend more time with them. Ps Emily will continue to serve in KY until the end of this year. We give thanks to God for her faithful service here and we seek your prayers for her future and her family’s salvation.

The 125th Anniversary Community Outreach Project of The Methodist Church in Singapore³
Praise God that the necessary funds have come in so that over 850 families can receive $125 every month for a year.
While we have enough funds, we need many more Befrienders who will do the home visit and bring the cheque to each family. To date 794 befrienders have signed up, just about half of the needed 1600 (min 2 befrienders per family).
All you need as a Befriender is to:
- be able to commit yourself at least once a month for 12 months to visit the family/individual you are matched with to bless them with the money
- attend a 2-hour volunteer briefing on 14 Aug (Sat), 7.30 pm at the Methodist Church in Singapore HQ (Barker Road) to prepare for the visits and relationship building
- be able to relate to people and lend a listening ear without being judgmental
How can I sign up to be a Befriender?
- as part of a cell
- as an individual
Please give your name, email address and contact number to the ministry staff by August 5. If it is a cell effort, the cell leader will be the one to sign up on behalf of the cell. |
