Kum Yan
We are a contemporary, family-oriented Methodist church that began as a purely dialect-speaking church in 1918. Over the years we have incorporated worship services in Cantonese, English and Mandarin to accommodate the changing needs of our community and society. The glue that binds the different congregations together is our value of UNITY IN DIVERSITY.

While reaching Cantonese-speakers continues to be a mission of Kum Yan Church, our scope has broadened over the years. We have an outreach point in Woodlands, known as Kum Yan Methodist Church (Woodlands) , a thriving children’s ministry as well as a vibrant youth ministry. We are conducting ALPHA Courses, English classes for foreigners and other evangelistic events in Catonese, English and Mandarin.

Our Vision

To be a caring community, a lighthouse and home in the city; bringing hope and purpose through a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ to all peoples of all ages.

Our Mission
KUM YAN is a family church united to glorify God by reaching its surrounding communities with the gospel and by nurturing and equipping believers for ministry in the church and world missions.

We believe in living out the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) as instructed by Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, through whom the enabling and empowering of the Holy Spirit releases spiritual gifts to all believers so that the purposes of God may be fulfilled.

Kum Yan Methodist Church dedicates herself to the purpose and destiny of God for His people in this church family to proclaim the Name of Jesus Christ to all peoples of all ages. God alone receives all Honor & Glory and this story we will pass on to the generations after us.
